Ozone injected into the body can be a powerful stimulator of the healing process. It is quick, cost effective, clinically effective, with minimal risks or side effects. I can be injected, delivered via IV, or insufflation. I usually describe ozone to my patients as giving your cells a red bull so they can do their work better and faster. Prolotherapy stimulates the healing process, while ozone improves the body’s ability to heal.

Improve mitochondrial function

Ozone is a powerful antioxidant and has been shown to drastically decrease free radicals, increase the amount of oxygen supplied to tissues, and increase the amount of energy molecules that cells produce.

Stimulate the immune system

Ozone has been shown to stimulate the production and release of important immunological and anti-inflammatory chemicals, including TNF-alpha, IL-2, and interferon. At the end of the day, healing is done by your immune system and anything that improves the immune system is going to help heal an injury.

Increase blood flow

Blood flow carries immune cells at nutrients to the area that needs healing, making sure that area has all the building blocks for the healing response. Ozone improves blood flow to the areas it is injected into by stimulating the rerelease of vasodilation chemicals.
